Resilient Buildings Group acted as energy consultants for Touloukian Touloukian Inc. during the design of the twenty-one story mixed use tower located in Boston, MA. The proposed building sits in a densely populated area which presents many opportunities for innovative design. The building incorporates a large opening which will allows sunlight to reach adjacent green spaces, as well as, limit the disruption to the neighbor’s views.
The tower utilizes solar photovoltaic awnings and wind turbines to generate 61% of its projected energy usage. The remaining 39%of the building’s energy usage is purchased from off-site renewable generation stations. As designed, the project is expected to achieve LEED platinum, as well as, Net Zero Water usage.
